Stay ripped while you’re on the road!

Most hotels have some sort of “fitness area”. But, what if the fitness room is full? Or you want to exercise in your room in your PJ’s? Or you don’t have a routine planned out?

Bring along a few Beachbody DVD’s, possibly some resistance bands, and you’re set for a great traveling workout routine.

The key is to know how long you will be traveling, and just as if you were at home, bring a variety. Doing the same routine day after day will get you nowhere. Mix it up for some muscle confusion.

Follow a few tips from Brett Hoebel, creator of the RevAbs DVD.

1. Lunge with a twist
Since your hotel room probably doesn’t come with an exercise ball, use an ice bucket for this exercise. 1  Step forward with one leg while lowering your body to 90 degrees at both knees. While you step forward, rotate your torso to the same side you step to with the ice bucket. Push back to an upright position with your forward leg and bring arms back to your core.
2. Push-ups
Hoebel loves this tried and  true exercise (and since you all probably had gym class, we’re not going to explain how to perform one) but for a harder option, elevate your feet onto a couch or chair, like Hoebel shows in his picture (bottom, right).

3. Ab jackknife

For this exercise, Hoebel recommends holding onto a book for extra weight. Lie on the floor with hands over your head. Simultaneously lift your arms and your one leg toward the ceiling. Switch legs for next rep.
